As Def Sounds previously reported, Jay-Z announced his Made In America music Festival that will take place in Philadelphia on Labor Day weekend. After he broke the news of the fest, he revealed that he will not be releasing new music anytime in the near future as his now 4 month old daughter will be at the focal point of his life.
Jay-Z spoke to Billboard moments after he made his announcement from the Philadelphia Art Museum, and the new father said not to expect any new music from him anytime soon as his sole focus at this time is his daughter Blue Ivy Carter.
“I thought I would be more inspired to have all these new feelings to talk about, but I really just want to hang out with my daughter.”
As Jay continued, he added:
“I want to enjoy this time for what it is. I’m sure that bug to get back in the studio will come back at some point.”
Although Jay will put his music on hold, he still will headline the Made In America Music Festival, which will be held Sept. 1 and 2 in Philly’s Ben Franklin Parkway in Fairmount Park.
