This week we’ve had a slight lull in the music video domain. However, that’s not to say we haven’t got a selection of great videos for all your viewing fancies. Azealia has released yet another great set of visuals, Crystal Castles have re-entered the fray with a bang and Grizzly Bear don’t disappoint either. Let us know your thoughts in the comments section below.
Azealia Banks – Luxury (Dir. Clarence Fuller)
Azealia is back with her third video in the space of just six weeks. The girl is a machine. Here she takes things back to her native New York and rocks out on the rooftops. Another gem from the young Harlemite, both aurally and visually.
Crystal Castles – Plague (Footage from Andrzej Zulawski’s ‘Possesion’)
Combining footage from an 80s Polish horror film with a deeply intense, pulsating track, Crystal Castles have made a bold return with their first release in two years. This one is creepy as shit.
Charli XCX – So Far Away (Dir. Ryan Andrews)
This one plays out like a thick, lucid Nintendo dream. With Disney princesses in front of swirling backdrops filled with tie-dye colours, Andrews’ direction is truly an ode to the internet age.
Grizzly Bear – Yet Again (Dir. Emily Kai Bock)
Grizzly Bear take us on a journey through the eyes of a young ice skater. After falling through the ice she washes up at a carnival at closing time. An original concept with an intense denouement.
Alabama Shakes – I Ain’t The Same (Dir. Jane Pollard)
Musicianship at its finest. Simple, clean and bluesy as hell.
