This past Tuesday night, Highsnobiety and Supra celebrated the launch of the 7th issue of Highsnobiety Magazine. Taking place at Berlin’s picturesque Schinkel Pavillon, the event included performances by Parisian DJ duo Twinsmatic and American rapper Travi$ Scott, who was also featured on our limited edition cover. In attendance were many of Supra’s pro skaters including the likes of Chad Muska, Erik Ellington and Lizard King. Drinks were provided by Dissarano, vitaminwater and Warsteiner.
A few days ago we introduced the seventh issue of our bi-annual print magazine. In addition to featuring New York model Adrianne Ho, we also produced a second limited edition cover with up-and-coming rapper Travi$ Scott. This special edition cover features the young G.O.O.D. Music artist suspended in water wearing shoes from Supra Footwear. The Travi$ Scott cover of Highsnobiety Magazine #7 will only be available July 2 at the Highsnobiety Supra event in Berlin and through select Supra retailers around the world. See the “making of” video below.
A few days ago we presented a teaser video for our seventh print magazine and now we’re able to give you a closer look at what lies inside. As mentioned in our teaser post, Jake Davis captured the beautiful New York Model Adrianne Ho for our cover along with a photo series inspired by the classic “Bo Knows” Nike advertising campaign featuring professional baseball and football player Bo Jackson. Heading over to Paris, we shot Travi$ Scott for SUPRA before sitting down to discuss the young artist’s recent work with G.O.O.D. Music. The latest collections from Louis Vuitton and Carven were juxtaposed against the streets of Berlin while our returning “In Focus” series took a closer look at up-and-coming brands and designers from South Korea.
A trip to the Leica factory in Germany gives you a behind-the-scenes look at the production facilities of the historic camera maker and our talented staff clues you in on the relationship between hip-hop and high fashion, as well as the historic relevance of military boots. Filmmaker Paul Black gives us a very personal outlook on the footwear needs of the modern gentleman while London agency owner Bob Sheard discusses contemporary brand strategies. Our in-house illustrator, Fritz Radtke, delivers a collage featuring our favorite patterns from Fall/Winter 2013. Furthermore, some of today’s most important fashion figures are interviewed including Adrian Joffe of COMME des GARCONS and Hiroki Nakamura of visvim.
All of this and much more is included in what is without a doubt our best issue yet. Highsnobiety Magazine #7 debuts at Berlin’s Bread & Butter on July 2nd before being released at select retailers around the world in the coming weeks.
We produced a sweet and sexy photo editorial in Berlin with Australian beauty Shanay Hall, who usually resides in NYC where she is signed to IMG Models. Photographer Julia Schauenburg captured the blonde sweetheart posing in Lever Couture, Tiger of Sweden, By Marlene Birger and Dawid Tomaszewski with silver body chains by Serendipity Jewellery.
It’s that time of year again. After months of working on the seventh issue of our print magazine, we’re proud to present the first teaser video featuring the star of Highsnobiety Magazine #7: Adrianne Ho. Her name led creative director Jake Davis to produce the video and “Ho Knows” series, inspired by the iconic Nike advertising campaign for Nike cross-training shoes featuring professional baseball and American football player Bo Jackson.
Highsnobiety Magazine #7 is set to debut next week at Berlin’s Bread & Butter before becoming available for purchase at select retailers around the world. We’ll be sure to provide more information then but for now, enjoy the video above.
After months of containing our excitement, we’re proud to finally present our most recent collaboration with Marcelo Burlon and his County of Milan label. For the collaboration, we worked on three individual iPhone 5 cases featuring the signature designs the Italian label has become known for. Available on the exterior are the Sun, Dom and Pas designs while the interior features the Highsnobiety logo and web address.
EKOCYCLE is an initiative created by will.i.am and Coca-Cola, dedicated to inspiring people to live a more sustainable lifestyle. Working with brands such as Levi’s, adidas, RVCA, Case-mate, Beats by Dre, New Era and MCM (coming soon), EKOCYCLE creates quality products all that are all partially made with recycled materials. For example, each pair of EKOCYCLE Levi’s 501s contains an average of 8 recycled plastic bottles.
As will.i.am mentions in the video above, Coca-Cola hooked us up with a selection of EKOCYCLE products to share with you guys. We are looking to gift one lucky Highsnobiety reader with a sampling of pieces from New Era, Case-mate, and adidas, along with a $ 400 Levi’s gift card. You can see and purchase many of the products here.
As some of you will recall from our Instagram coverage, Highsnobiety Editor Pete Williams spent 2 weeks in Malaysia back in March as part of a project called Travel With Us. Organized by Marcus Troy and The BHD, the project partners with various tourism boards around the world to organize press trips to their respective countries, and this round we were invited to join in.
Comprised of a thorough 15 day itinerary, we experienced a whirlwind trip of nearly everything Malaysia has to offer: from food and wildlife, to architecture and culture and even the F1 Grand Prix at Sepang International Circuit.
Below you will find our recap of 20 things to see and do in Malaysia.
In the latest installment of our Highsnobiety Visits series we take a detailed look at the beautiful Neighborhood flagship store in Tokyo’s Harajuku neighborhood. Motorcycle culture plays an important role in the brand’s look, feel and inspiration process. That was directly translated into the Neighborhood store in Tokyo, which sits in the heart of the Harajuku shopping district, right below Supreme.
From the wooden fixtures, dark overall aesthetic, and the highly detailed merchandising, Neighborhood impresses with a very clear brand message that is perfectly in line with its collections.
