Nike Unveils Manchester United Home Kit for 2013/14

Premier League Champions Manchester United will be playing in a new Nike designed home kit next season, inspired by elements of the club’s successful history and the city’s industrial heritage.
The United home shirt features the return of the black collar, worn upturned with such brilliance by Eric Cantona during the club’s champion run of the 1990s. Underneath the collar is a subtle tonal grey and black-gingham check, first used on last season’s home shirt. The new home shorts are white with a thin black stripe on the hem of the back. The home socks are black with a white stripe bound by two red stripes.

Nike Unveils First Manchester City Home Kit

Manchester City will play in their first ever Nike home kit next season – a kit that pays homage to their heritage while reflecting the club’s modern style. The new home shirt is a classic football design, featuring a sky blue body with a white ribbed crew neck and white ribbed cuffs on the sleeves. The collar and cuffs also feature dark blue trim. The new home shorts are white with a thin sky blue stripe along each side, and the socks are white with a sky blue band with dark blue trim at the top.

As part of Red Stripe’s Make With A Red Stripe campaign, Bristol artist Filthy Luker has converted Manchester’s Town Hall from heritage building to vintage games console! Known for previously attaching titanic tentacles to lighthouses, vans and office blocks, Luker reinterpreted road control blockers as Space Invaders, and with the addition of some LED lighting, created a life-size video game. For Spring/Summer 2012 Nike Sportswear produced a lifestyle collection designed and inspired by the Manchester United football club. They invited  young striker Danny Welbeck to model the collection, which consists of several tops, outerwear pieces and more, all featuring in one way or another the distinct MU branding.
