American wooden eyeglass manufacturer Proof has unveiled a new series of sunglasses made from skateboard decks. Each pair uses 5-ply Canadian maple to create a visually stunning layering pattern unique to each model. Currently, 3 different styles are offered including Ontario, Bud, and Smoke Jumper.
Each pair comes hand-polished and coated with a layer of water/sweat protective sealant. A custom wooden case is included as well as is a microfibre pouch. To top things off, a portion of each sale is donated to non-profit charities in India that provide sight restoration surgeries to people with cataracts.

We have always been fans of Japanese shoe brand Hender Scheme. Best known to us for their “Hommage” sneaker series, where they hand make and re-interpret sneaker classics, they have also slowly branched out into premium leather accessories.
As part of their Spring/Summer 2013 Collection, Hender Scheme presents a full on leather skateboard deck. Made of several layers of thick vegetable tanned leather, the outcome is a beautiful design item.
After a teaser preview the other day, we can present today the new Red Bull produced “Perspective” skateboard film - A cinematic journey through the eyes of skateboarding’s elite.

Most folks down under will commemorate the Australia Day holiday by "taking it easy", and possibly chucking a couple of slabs of meat on the barbeque. The restless can rejoice though, because Gold Coast boutique Sneak & Destroy is hosting an exhibition at Rabbit + Cocoon that will shine a light on the history of skating and skateboards down under. The ‘Still Coping’ retrospective will kick off next Friday and will showcase skating paraphernalia scrounged from all corners of our Great Southern Land, plus stories, photography, films and heaps of other stuff! Word is there will be some fresh tees and deck re-issues up for grabs as well. Check the flyer below for the essential details (and the dope boomerang board logo) and tell the world you’re attending on Facebook here.

Custom artwork for each of Enjoi’s riders (Jose Rojo, Jerry Hsu, Louie Barletta, Nestor Judkins, Wieger Van Wageningen, Cairo Foster and Caswell Berry) that celebrates their individual loves, loathings, artifacts and most importantly: bad habits.
Check out all 7 skateboard decks, that are available now, in the above gallery. You can purchase them online here.
Today we can show you the ‘Freeling’ documentary about skateboarding, a very different take on the subject than what one usually comes across on. Andrew Lovgren presents a documentary about the free feeling of skateboarding. The film features Sean Malto, Austin Cosler, DJ Stewart, Reggie Jones and Mikey Santillan.
The message of the 26 minute short film is “Get out of the box and go skate” and that is certainly something we can get behind.
British designer Kate Eary has given a sneak preview a set of three skateboard decks for her Spring/Summer 2012 collection. A flamboyant design is adorned featuring a symmetrical gold like pillar backed by water themed patterns on the boards; fish scale, a squid’s tentacle and a deep blue sea. Expect to see these to be released in the near future. (Via Another Mag)
